Designing your Summer

Designing Your Best Season Yet

My goal is to stretch these summer days out with more experiences, more play, more laughter, more fun, more self-improvement, more love, more courage, more kindness, and loads of delicious foods. Summer is not just a season; it's a state of mind, an opportunity to curate moments that linger long after the sun sets. As we transition into the warmth of these golden months, let's embark on an intentional journey to make this summer our most memorable yet.

A Season of Possibilities

Summer, in all its sun-drenched glory, invites us to step outside the routine and embrace the extraordinary. Picture this: mornings that start with a cup of herbal tea and the sound of birds singing, afternoons spent lounging by the pool with a good book, and evenings filled with laughter and the company of friends. It's a time to be yourself, kick off your heels, and dance barefoot in the grass and definitely ground oneself. But beyond the idyllic imagery, how do we manifest a summer that truly resonates with joy and fulfillment?

Let us ‘Manifest a Great Summer’:

A Toolkit!

1. Experiences Over Things:

Invest in moments that create lasting memories. Whether it's a spontaneous road trip, a day at the beach, or a night under the stars, these experiences are the true treasures of summer.

2. More Play:

Reconnect with your inner child. Remember what it felt like to play without a care in the world? Incorporate play into your routine. Try pickleball, it’s the new rage(as a woman in her Middle Ages, they say picking up a racket sport helps starve of dementia), join a yoga session in the park, or simply have a picnic in the park.

3. Laughter and Fun:

Surround yourself with people who bring joy into your life. Host a summer soirée(I am a summer baby), plan a game night, or have a movie marathon with your favorite summer flicks. Laughter is the best way to make the season unforgettable.

4. Self-Improvement:

Use the longer days to invest in yourself. Take up a new hobby, learn a language, or enroll in that online course you've been eyeing, like this one on Domestika https://www.domestika.org/en/courses/2175-inside-a-creative-notebook-explore-your-illustration-process. Growth is a continuous journey, and summer provides the perfect backdrop for it.

5. Courage:

Step out of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself to try new things—whether it's tasting an exotic dish, conquering a fear, or striking up a conversation with someone new. Courage fuels our adventures and opens doors to new experiences.

6. Kindness:

Spread positivity like confetti. Small acts of kindness can transform someone's day and create a ripple effect of goodwill. Volunteer, compliment a stranger, or simply be there for a friend in need. Kindness is a universal language that everyone understands

7. Delicious Foods:

Savor the flavors of the season. Fresh berries, juicy watermelon, and garden-fresh salads are summer staples. Host a barbecue, try a new recipe, or visit a local farmers' market. Good food is at the heart of every great gathering.

Designing Balance for Happiness

Amidst the fun and excitement, don't forget to carve out time for rest and reflection. Balance is key to a fulfilling summer. Create a schedule that allows for spontaneity but also ensures you have moments of peace and quiet. Meditate by the water, journal under a tree, or simply enjoy a lazy afternoon nap.

It's in these quiet moments that we often find clarity and inspiration.

As the days get longer and the nights get warmer, instead of wondering what summer will offer, why not design it? With a little intention and a lot of heart, you can create a summer that's not only enjoyable but also enriching and transformative. So, here's to a summer filled with more play, more laughter, more fun, more self-improvement, more courage, more kindness, and loads of delicious foods. Cheers to designing your best summer yet!
